Same key count and column stagger as the Sofle, but without the two rotary encoders and with a tighter thumb cluster — it's the original design the Sofle was forked from. Against the 42-key Corne, you keep the number row on the base layer, so digits and symbols don't need a layer hold. Easier learning curve than the Corne, fewer bells than the Sofle.

The Sofle keeps a number row and gives you 16 more keys than the Corne, so most non-letter input doesn't need a layer. It's easier to learn but bigger on the desk. The Corne is the minimalist alternative if you want maximum ergonomic gain.

By default we display a layer. We highly recommend you pick the OLED option for the wireless build, it shows the connection between both halves and the battery level. The OLEDs are fully programmable: show WPM, current layer, modifier state, volume, your dog's name, or anything QMK or ZMK can render.

","What if I want different switches?","

Order the keyboard without switches in the variant selector, then drop in any Choc v1-compatible switch yourself. The sockets are hot-swap, so no soldering needed. We only stock Kailh Choc v1 Red Pro at the moment.

","Can I use Kailh Choc v2 switches?","

No. The hot-swap sockets on these PCBs are Choc v1, which have a different pin layout from Choc v2, and the larger Choc v2 stem also wouldn't fit Choc-profile keycaps. Stick to Choc v1-compatible switches if you swap from the stock Red Pros.

","Why is a TRRS cable included with the wireless build?","

It's a backup. If both batteries die before you can recharge, you can disconnect the batteries, plug in the TRRS cable to link the halves, and run the keyboard wired over USB-C. Do not connect the TRRS cable while the batteries are plugged in. Disconnect the batteries first.

","How do the batteries work on the wireless build?","

Wireless builds ship with two 1000 mAh rechargeable batteries, one per side. They arrive disconnected for safety reasons. On first setup, plug the battery into its JST connector below each part. Recharge each half over USB-C when it runs low.

","Wired or wireless?","

Both options exist. Pick the wired variant (USB-C, RP2040 controller, QMK firmware) or wireless (nRF52840 controller, ZMK firmware, Bluetooth LE) from the variant selector. The wireless build runs on a rechargeable battery per half.

","Can I remap the keys?","

Yes. The wired build runs QMK with Vial: open vial.rocks in your browser or use the Vial desktop app, plug the keyboard in, and remap live. No compiling, no flashing. The wireless build runs ZMK and is configurable through zmk.studio.

","Is the keyboard fully built or a DIY kit?","

Fully built. The PCB is soldered, switches are seated in the hot-swap sockets (if you ordered with switches), the firmware is flashed, and we test every key, plus every encoder where present, before it ships. You plug it in and start typing.
